Official notice timeline

A shortlist, main DV schedule, revised order, postponed schedule, additional-candidate list and last-chance notice are not interchangeable. An earlier schedule may remain useful for its checklist or formats while a later order changes reporting dates. Likewise, an additional list applies to the candidates named in that file; it does not create a general walk-in date for everyone.

How to confirm whether the notice applies to you

1. Confirm the exact recruitment year, post name and advertisement number where one is shown.
2. Open the latest applicable order, then check whether an older schedule was revised, postponed or limited to a different candidate group.
3. Search the public candidate PDF by roll number. Match the subject, post, area, category or division where the schedule separates candidates.
4. Read the heading above the candidate row and note the date, reporting time, venue and any part number printed in that file.
5. If the roll number appears only in an additional or absent-candidate list, follow that notice rather than the main schedule.
6. Check the official News section once more before travelling so a same-day correction or later order is not missed.

Being listed for document verification normally means the candidate has been called for eligibility and original-document checking at that stage. It should not be described as final selection, appointment or joining unless RSSB or the appointing department issues the corresponding final record. If a name and roll number conflict, rely on the official candidate identifier and contact the authority through an announced channel.

Documents and forms: use the exact official checklist

The required papers can differ by recruitment and candidate claim. Open the checklist, instructions and standard formats attached to the applicable notice. Prepare originals and the number of self-attested copies stated there. Check whether the notice asks for an application print, admit card, photo identity proof, educational records, date-of-birth proof, domicile or category evidence, marriage-status documents, experience certificate, departmental permission, disability certificate, sportsperson record, affidavit or a board-prescribed form. Names, parents’ names, date of birth and category details should be consistent across the application and certificates. Plan travel only after matching the candidate row. A board-wide notice can contain separate venues, divisions, subjects, dates or sessions. Reach within the time allowed by the official instructions and keep a downloaded copy of the notice.
